On Friday September 30 2016 ONE 2 ONE will be sponsoring The Lancaster Greaunknownt Social Enterprise Pitch. ONE 2 ONE is a proud sponsor of this event and is devoted to dedicating their time to help better the Lancaster Community.

A market-based, income-generating enterprise that aims to solve a social and/or environmental problem through its business activities. Social Enterprises focus on a triple bottom line: people, planet and profit.

The Great Social Enterprise Pitch is an idea and business plan competition for concepts that use a business model and revenues to have a positive social or environmental impact. Ten social enterprise ideas will be selected from a pool of applicants. From April to August, ten business ideas had undergone a rigorous curriculum of idea incubation, business development, and concept refinement.

All businesses need the support and backing of the community to succeed. Crowdfunding is a chance to see which of the ideas resonate with the community and which entrepreneur can best spread their message, while also raising start-up funds for all the social enterprises themselves! From August 24-September 14, you could show your support with your dollars and help fund the launch of these amazing ideas that can help change the way Lancaster does business!

In August, these ideas went public for you to support through crowdfunding. Then, five finalists were chosen to participate in the Live Pitch on September 30. Winners will receive a prize package including cash and pro-bono services.

The ten teams were selected by organizers from a pool of 32 applicants to participate in the free Idea Incubators involving a robust three-month learning program designed to develop the proposed social enterprise ideas. Applicant ideas were evaluated based on the clarify of problem the enterprise addresses, the enterprise’s proposed impact on that problem, the demand for the proposed products or services, the potential for profitability, and the leadership of the enterprise and its capacity to scale to address the problem. Preference was given to ideas that develop or support thriving wage jobs for people with barriers to employment.
