Phishing and Social Engineering 101

Thursday, October 24th from 7:30 – 8:30 AM

At the ONE 2 ONE Office

Don’t Get Hooked!

In phishing and social engineering schemes, cyber attackers trick your employees into clicking on malicious links and entering sensitive data like account numbers and passwords.

According to IBM, compromised credentials were the second most common entry point for cyberattacks, costing businesses over $4 million.

Join ONE 2 ONE’s Key Account Manager, Kyle Schofield, as he explains how a phishing and social engineering scam can damage your reputation, impact your bottom line, and what you can do to prevent it.

This training session will cover the following critical areas:

  • Engaging Stories: Hear examples of real-world phishing scams and their impact on lost revenue
  • Staff Training: Understand that phishing is a people problem and that your staff can be crucial in combating it with the proper knowledge and tools
  • Cybersecurity Framework: Learn what a NIST Assessment is and how it’s a low-risk entry point to discover cybersecurity gaps in your IT environment

Favorite Snack
I am a savory snacker – cheese, crackers, chips, meats and the like. If it is sweet it must have peanut butter… lots of peanut butter.

Some people collect stamps, some people collect dogs… is there anything YOU collect?
Oh man, I have too many collections. A few are: old straight razors that I refurbish, old wind/brass instruments that I restore, any old instrument that looks cool, and old Star Wars Lego sets.

What is your relation to Lancaster?
I grew up in NJ and we spent a lot of time in this area especially when I was younger and it always had a pull on me. When an opportunity for my wife opened up down here we made the decision to move down!

Maybe you’re a rock star, maybe you’re a birdwatcher, or maybe you’re just a couch potato – we don’t judge. What do you like to do outside of work?
I can usually be found in my music studio recording or refurbishing instruments, or in the kitchen experimenting with a new meal. I also enjoy urban exploration and photography, but not when it is 100 degrees out 🙂

Give us a fun fact that people may not know about you.
One time I drove 4 sitting members of congress to an Applebees, with 2 of them in the trunk of my Tahoe (by choice!)… but that’s a story for another time.

“When a ONE 2 ONE technician shows up at our office it’s kind of like another member of the family. They’re great people, they always come prepared, they’re very knowledgeable, they have a lot of expertise, and they always leave with the problem resolved.
